1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Winnow Finance ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Winnow Finance is an expense tracking and receipt analysis tool that uses software and AI-assisted processing to organize receipt data uploaded by the user.
Disclaimer
Winnow Finance is not a financial advisor, accountant, tax preparer, medical advisor, insurance professional, or bank. The data provided by the Service is for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon for tax reporting, reimbursement, insurance, medical, accounting, or legal compliance without independent verification.
3. User Accounts & Security
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- You are strictly prohibited from sharing your account with others.
- You must provide accurate contact information.
4. Subscriptions & Payments
- Plan: Winnow is offered as a single paid plan with monthly and yearly billing cadences. Prices, trials, and promotional offers may vary by platform and will be shown before purchase.
- Trial: New accounts may receive a 14-day trial before paid access begins, unless a store or promotion shows different terms at purchase.
- Web Billing: Web and PWA purchases are processed by Stripe. Web subscription checkout, payment method updates, invoices, taxes, and cancellation are handled through Stripe-hosted billing surfaces.
- iOS Billing: iOS app purchases are processed through Apple in-app purchase. Apple manages payment, renewal, cancellation, taxes collected from customers where applicable, refunds, and purchase restoration through the App Store.
- Android Billing: Android app purchases are processed through Google Play Billing. Google manages payment, renewal, cancellation, taxes collected from customers where applicable, refunds, and purchase restoration through Google Play.
- Cross-Platform Access: A verified active Winnow subscription grants access across web, iOS, and Android when you sign in with the same Winnow account.
- Cancellation: You may cancel renewal at any time through the provider that processed your purchase. Access generally continues through the end of the verified paid period unless the provider reports a refund, revocation, void, failed payment, or expired access window.
- Taxes: Taxes on web purchases may be calculated and collected through Stripe. Taxes on App Store and Google Play purchases are handled through the respective store checkout and payout systems where applicable.
5. Fair Use Policy
To maintain service quality and manage processing costs, Winnow enforces monthly fair-use limits:
- Winnow Limit: Paid and trial users may process up to 400 receipts per month.
- Access After Trial: After the 14-day trial ends, an active Winnow subscription is required to continue using the Service.
- Overage: Winnow may throttle or pause additional receipt processing until the next monthly reset.
- Bulk Uploads: The Service is designed for normal ongoing use. Extremely large backfills or abuse-oriented upload patterns may be restricted.
6. User Content & Conduct
You retain ownership of the receipts you upload ("User Content"). By uploading content, you grant Winnow Finance a worldwide, non-exclusive license to use, host, store, and modify such content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service. You agree not to:
- Upload receipts containing illegal items, sensitive medical information, or data belonging to others without consent.
- Reverse engineer the API or scrape data from the Service.
- Use the Service for money laundering or illegal commerce.
7. Search, Tags & Accuracy
Receipt search, semantic tags, HSA/FSA/insurance/business labels, and categorization are informational organization tools only. AI-assisted search and categorization may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate.
You are responsible for reviewing receipt data and verifying any category, tag, eligibility label, reimbursement label, business-use label, or search result before relying on it for tax, reimbursement, insurance, medical, accounting, or compliance decisions.
8. Third-Party Processing & Accuracy
You acknowledge that Winnow may rely on third-party infrastructure and AI services to process receipt data. We strive for accuracy, but OCR and categorization are not guaranteed to be correct. You are responsible for reviewing important data.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Winnow Finance shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including loss of data or profits). Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to the Service in the last six (6) months.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
